Leadership Change at USA Triathlon

In a recent and inspiring shift within USA Triathlon, Henry Brandon has been elected as the new Chair of the Board of Directors, marking a significant milestone as the first African American to hold this prestigious position. He takes the baton from Joel Rosinbum, who notably was the first paratriathlete to serve in this role since 2021. Alongside him, Dylan Sorenson steps up as the Vice Chair, bringing fresh energy and perspectives to the team.

Victoria Brumfield, the CEO of USA Triathlon, expressed her enthusiasm about the new appointments.

"Congratulations to Henry Brandon on his election as Chair of the USA Triathlon Board of Directors and to Dylan Sorensen as Vice Chair. Both bring a wealth of leadership, experience, and passion for our sport, and I am excited to work alongside them as we continue to grow and strengthen triathlon in the U.S.," she said.

Brumfield also extended heartfelt gratitude towards Joel Rosinbum for his transformative leadership and lasting impact on the organization.

Henry Brandon, whose tenure on the Board has been impactful since 2019, shared his gratitude and vision for the future.

"I am forever grateful to have been elected as Chairman of the USA Triathlon Board of Directors. I am passionate about the sport of triathlon and feel very privileged to be in the position to meaningfully contribute to its mission and future success, particularly as we look to the 2028 Games in LA," he stated.

His background in non-profits and various leadership roles underscores his commitment to not just advancing the sport but also enhancing community engagement and inclusivity.

In addition to these leadership changes, USA Triathlon’s Chief Sport Development Officer, Tim Yount, has taken on a new role within the World Triathlon’s Age-Group Commission. This position will leverage his expertise to enhance the experience for age-group athletes and support their national federations, ensuring that the sport remains accessible and enjoyable for all.

These leadership transitions come at a pivotal time for USA Triathlon, as the organization continues to navigate the evolving landscape of the sport and strives to foster a more inclusive community. The collective experience and dedication of the new leaders are set to propel USA Triathlon towards new heights, making the sport even more dynamic and engaging for athletes across the nation.
