For age group competitors, a notable change is the introduction of the Age-Group Open category, which replaces the traditional men's category. This new category is inclusive of all transgender athletes, eliminating the need for medical or legal eligibility criteria. Conversely, the age-group female category will now exclusively include athletes assigned female at birth, aiming to maintain fairness in competition.

Policy Adjustments at the Elite Level

Transgender women wishing to compete in the female category must undergo a four-year transitory period, maintaining serum testosterone levels below 2.5 nmol/L.
