The Woodlands Family YMCA Announces the Return of the Summer Triathlon Series for Kids and Teens, Sponsored by Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands
The Woodlands, TX – Excitement is mounting as The Woodlands Family YMCA gears up for the 3rd Annual Summer Triathlon Series for Kids and Teens, proudly presented by Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands. This event, a staple in the community for over two decades, continues to grow, reflecting the enduring popularity of this dynamic race. The series offers young athletes the chance to engage in the invigorating sports of swimming, biking, and running, with the next race scheduled for July 20th.
Blake Kelly, YMCA Community Development Director, expressed deep gratitude for the continued support from Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands, highlighting the impact of their partnership: “Their generosity significantly bolsters the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, enabling us to ensure that no one is turned away due to an inability to pay. This event isn’t just about sports; it’s about strengthening community bonds and fostering sustainable change.”
Jenny Bailey, Community Liaison at Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands, shared her enthusiasm for the series: “We are thrilled to support the YMCA in offering these events that not only promote physical fitness but also bring our community together. It’s a joy to see so many young participants eager to compete and have fun.”
The series kicked off with its first race on May 18 at the Holcomb Family YMCA in The Falls of Imperial Oaks, drawing in over 115 participants aged 7 to 15. The upcoming race on July 20 will cater to children aged 6 to 13 and will take place at the Branch Crossing YMCA. The event promises a morning filled with energy and excitement, starting at 7:30 am.
Participants can look forward to a variety of post-race activities including refreshments, face painting, a bubble station, music, games, and an awards ceremony. Special awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age group, and all participants will receive a goodie bag, T-shirt, and a finisher medal. Additional amenities such as breakfast, coffee, and concessions will be available for purchase.
