🎯

Is this your race?

A sprint is the friendliest triathlon distance there is: a short swim, a short bike and a short run, all in one morning. This one is urban and close to the sea, so the logistics are simple and the atmosphere should be lively. Two things to check with the organiser: the swim is in open sea, and listings disagree on the start time (our event record says 7:00 AM, one listing says 08:30). Beginner fit 5/5: Sprint baseline 5, no verified deductions or additions (water temperature, weather and cut-offs are unconfirmed), capped at 5.

✅ You’ll love it if…

  • You want a first triathlon that is short enough to finish with a smile.
  • You like the idea of racing through a city with the sea beside you.
  • You prefer a bike course without big climbs (about 50 m of gain is reported).

⏳ Build up first if…

  • You have never swum in open water. Practise in the sea or a lake first, because waves feel very different from a pool.
  • You are not yet comfortable riding in a group on city roads. A few practice rides with traffic will help.
  • You want certainty on cut-off times and course details. The sources we found don't confirm them, so check the official page.

Not yet? That’s normal. Start here → take the 2-minute Readiness Assessment.

🗺️

The course, demystified

The race starts with a sea swim facing Postiguet Beach, then a road-bike loop of about 21 km, then an urban run of about 4.8 km. The run is described as open to the sea. Exact maps, road closures and elevation profiles aren't confirmed in what we found, so download the official course maps when they are published.

🏊 Swim · 750 m

Respira y flota (breathe and float) — the start is in the Mediterranean facing Postiguet Beach, and your first goal is simply to settle your breathing. The sources don't confirm the course shape, current, waves or water temperature, so check the organiser's briefing for wetsuit rules and conditions. Start at the edge or back of your group if you want some space.

Rookie trap: Open sea can mean a little chop or swell, and nothing here confirms that it will be calm. That's normal. Practise swimming in open water beforehand, and know that you can roll onto your back and float to rest at any time.
🚴 Bike · 21 km

A road-bike course through Alicante, with about 50 m of climbing reported by a secondary race listing. That's gentle for a sprint, so you can settle into a steady rhythm. Exact road-closure details aren't confirmed, so read the official rider guide before race day.

Rookie trap: No big climbs are verified, so the main challenge is riding sensibly in an urban setting. Keep your head up at corners, leave room around other riders and don't burn all your energy early.
🏃 Run · 4.8 km

A short run on city roads, described as open to the sea. Your legs will feel odd at first after the bike, and that's completely normal. Shorten your stride, relax your shoulders and let the rhythm come back.

Rookie trap: The seaside setting may bring some exposure to sun or wind, though neither is verified. Bring a cap or visor in case, and don't worry about pace. Cut-off times aren't confirmed, so check them on the official page.

Bike
About 21 km on city roads. Ride steadily and drink some water.

About 4.8 km through the city. Start easy and speed up if you feel good.

If-Then: your calm-in-chaos grid

A plan for the moments that scare you. Read it twice the night before.

IfThe sea looks choppy on race morning
ThenTake a few calm breaths, start at the back or side, and swim your own pace. Roll onto your back and float if you need a rest.
IfYou're not sure whether wetsuits are allowed or recommended
ThenCheck the organiser's rules and briefing. Water temperature isn't confirmed in our research, so don't guess.
IfYour legs feel strange when you start the run
ThenThat's normal after cycling. Shorten your stride, relax and give it a few minutes.
IfYou get a flat tyre or mechanical problem
ThenStay calm, move safely off the road and ask a marshal or race support for help. Learning to change a tube beforehand helps a lot.
IfThe start time on your confirmation differs from what you saw online
ThenTrust the organiser's official message and email them if in doubt.

Bringing a support crew?

The race is described as taking place in the heart of Alicante, with the swim facing Postiguet Beach and the bike and run in an urban setting. That should make it an easy and fun one for friends and family to watch, though exact spectator zones and access rules aren't confirmed.

  • Check the official page for spectator zones and any restricted areas.
  • The beach and waterfront area may be a good place to watch the swim, but confirm access first.
  • The start area is reported at or near Plaza del Ayuntamiento, so agree a meeting point there for after the finish.
  • Bring sun protection, water and a loud voice. Beginners love hearing their name along the course.
