XTERRA is bringing its celebrated off-road racing experience to one of Australia's most breathtaking coastlines — and the February 2027 Anglesea event promises to be a landmark moment for the Asia-Pacific triathlon community.
XTERRA Anglesea: Off-Road Racing on Australia's Surf Coast
Scheduled for February 13–14, 2027, the XTERRA Anglesea event will unfold along the stunning Surf Coast of Victoria, Australia — just southwest of Melbourne near the iconic Great Ocean Road. Anglesea's rugged trails, river crossings, and ocean backdrop make it a natural stage for off-road competition at its most spectacular.
XTERRA has always drawn athletes who crave something beyond the standard road race. This event is no exception. Competitors and spectators alike will find themselves immersed in one of the most scenic natural environments the Southern Hemisphere has to offer.
Off-road triathlon isn't just a race — it's a reminder of why you started moving in the first place. Anglesea delivers that feeling in full.
What's on the Race Card
The centerpiece of the weekend is the Full Distance Triathlon, which carries serious weight: it serves as a World Championship qualifier for the Asia-Pacific region. Athletes chasing a spot on the global stage will line up knowing exactly what's at stake on these trails and in those waters.
Beyond the flagship triathlon, the program includes the XTERRA Youth Tour competition — giving the next generation of off-road racers their own moment in the spotlight — along with the XTERRA Trail Run World Series for runners who prefer to keep it to two legs.
A Full Festival Weekend
XTERRA events have always been as much about community as competition, and Anglesea leans into that tradition hard. A beachside event center will anchor the weekend, complete with expo entertainment, finish line festivities, food trucks, and live music. Families who make the trip will find a playground nearby and easy access to both the beach and the river — making it a genuine destination weekend, not just a race-day dash.
The XTERRA Legacy
XTERRA traces its roots to the shores of Maui, Hawaii, where the first race was held in 1996. In the nearly three decades since, it has grown into a global outdoor lifestyle brand built around exploration, environmental stewardship, and the kind of community that forms when people push themselves through mud, roots, and open water together. Anglesea 2027 is the next chapter in that story — written on Australian soil.
From Maui to the Great Ocean Road, XTERRA continues to prove that the best races happen where the pavement ends.
